With the use of an ultrasonic Hear More device manufactured by SDT, we have been successful in diagnosing and correcting many problems that were not able to be detected by other PdM technologies. The Ultra Sonic equipment is used to detect air loss, nitrogen and other gas leaks. Between our technology used and experience we are able to provide our customers with a highly successful service and save your company money.

One example of a successful Ultra Sonics Service by Reliability Concepts with a valued customer, MSU Power Plant detected a critical issue. By placing an ultrasonic sound emitter inside the turbine, we were able to find a hairline crack in the rupture disc. This find saved a critical failure that could have been disastrous.

Ultrasonic inspections can be use to troubleshoot:

  • Air leaks and vacuum leaks
  • Steam trap malfunctions
  • Bearing condition monitoring and lubrication issues (too much or too little lubrication)
  • Electrical arcing and corona discharge
  • Pump cavitation
  • Boiler, heat exchanger, and condenser leaks and etc.

Ultra Sonics is used to detect issues with non-rotation equipment such as steam lines, steam traps, vacuum chambers, valves, air lines, gas lines, pressure vessels, turbines, and etc. If you would like a quote for Ultra Sonic services please call 517-278-8057.
