Lube Oil Analysis
Reliability Concepts uses the services of rebutable laboratories and wants to ensure that your machines lubricant is in a healthy condition. Lubrication analysis is essential for maximizing the life of a machine and its parts. By carrying out a detailed analysis of lubricants wear and contamination problems can be detected at an early stage before major damage takes place. Lubrication analysis should be an important part of a condition based maintenance program. |

With the use of an ultrasonic listening device manufactured by SDT, we have been successful in diagnosing and correcting many problems that were not able to be detected by other PdM technologies.
One recent example is a turbine at the MSU Power Plant. By placing an ultrasonic sound emitter inside the turbine, we were able to find a hairline crack in the rupture disc. This find saved a critical failure that could have been disastrous.
Ultrasonic inspections can be use to troubleshoot:
· Air leaks and vacuum leaks
· Steam trap malfunctions
· Bearing condition monitoring and lubrication issues (too much or too little lubrication)
· Electrical arcing and corona discharge
· Pump cavitation
· Boiler, heat exchanger, and condenser leaks
· And more
